Not easy

It's not as easy as you think it is-
standing on top of the world,
being the one that actually captures rainbows,
blowing fairy dust in everyone's eyes,
smashing mirrors to see what hides behind,
smoking my last cigarette every day,
plotting against humanity in my bed,
hiding in front of you all,
speaking in tongues because I'm afraid
to state the obvious,
to say what I mean,
to hide what I fear.
It's not easy,
it's a dirty work, i know
but somebody's gotta do it,
right?
